WHO ARE THE ULTIMATE TAILGATERS?
We are a growing group of Texas Tech alumni & fans dedicated to making tailgating available to everyone. With the help of our sponsors and generous dontations by our guests, we continue to grow and bring more excitement with each passing tailgate.
WHAT MAKES THE TAILGATES BETTER THAN THE REST?
Lots of things! Live bands, amazing food, multi tap draft beer, tailgate games, crowd competions, HD TV, restrooms,.... you name it, we probably got it.
WHO IS WELCOME AT THE TAILGATES?
Everyone - young, old, Red Raiders, even the visiting team, we don't turn any responsible fan away. Grab your friends, family, even your in-laws and stop by to see why we are attracting national attention.
WHERE ARE YOU GUYS AT?
For the 2008 season, we are moving back to the place where Texas Tech was known to have great tailgating.... THE LEGENDARY HASTINGS LOT. We will be at the NW corner of 4th & University - directly infront of Hastings. Special thanks to the friendly and supportive Hastings management staff.
WHAT TIME DO THINGS BEGIN?
Typically the tailgate kicks off around sunrise with most guests arriving within 4 hours of kickoff. The tailgate slows down significantly during the game then picks back up after the game - usually until the beer and food run out. Live bands usually go on about 3 hours till kickoff.
SHOULD I BRING ANYTHING?
We ask for our guests to please donate what they feel is an approriate amount for the amenities they plan to enjoy. Typically $10-$15 per person is a reasonable amount for food, beer, restrooms, and live music for several hours. For those who join us for the entire day, we recommend $20. While our sponsors do assist in the overall cost of the events, it is up to the generosity of our guests to truely make our events work. With the tailgates costing over $2,000 per game, we need your help to ensure we are able return for each home game, year after year. We use these funds to not only pay for the tailgate but to improve them as well.

ULTIMATE TAILGATERS pride ourselves on providing a safe, responsible, and inviting environment that everyone can enjoy. In the situation these conditions are comprimised by any guest, they will be removed from the tailgate immediately. If security issues are comprimised, undercover officers will assist and resolve any issues and the offender[s] prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
